Lotus Adventures started in 1998 as an adventure travel company. Apart from the normal cultural tours and festival tours, Lotus Adventures specializes in Trekking, Mountain Biking, Fishing and White Water Rafting and Kayaking.
Lotus Adventures was the pioneer in introducing white water sports in Bhutan and was instrumental in surveying the various rivers and developing the sport and training the first Bhutanese river guides. Lotus Adventures has conducted various expeditions on the rivers, the first one in 1999, where a group of Americans kayaked the rivers from west to the east in Trashigang. In 2002, Lotus Adventures opened the western river, the Amo Chhu for a multi activity trip, trekking for the first part starting in Haa valley and descending to Ammo Chhu basin Eventually, kayaking and rafting on the last leg and ending up Phuentsholing on the Indian border in the south.
Lotus has specialized in outdoor travel with a combination of multiple sporting activities with any one of our cultural tours. Trips can include any combination of cultural sight seeing, festivals, trekking, mountain biking, kayaking and rafting. Special interest activity is incorporated after consultation with the clients (bird watching, flora and fauna, high altitude trekking and filming). We would be happy to cater to your interests and your availability.
Lotus Adventures has a river camp situated on the Mo Chhu River, which caters to guests who love the outdoors. Spacious cottage tents and garden chairs with a common dinning tent and an evening bonfire make for balmy nights with river-chilled beer. We have an excellent cooking team who serves seven-course meals for lunch and dinner. While staying at the river camp refreshments are available at any time. Come be our guests in Bhutan!!!
